Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Personal Protective Equipment is the final piece of the Risk Assessment procedure. Once all the hazards have been identified, the control measures implemented and the risk level at an acceptable stage, then the use of PPE can be advised. If PPE is correctly identified, used correctly and the limitations of the PPE are recognised, it is an effective way of further protection from potential harm. Online Safety Services can work with you to recommend the type of PPE, the limitations of PPE and train users on the correct use of PPE.
The aim of the Personal Protective Equipment course is to provide training for all users of personal protective equipment and to assist PPE users to be aware of their responsibilities.
Upon completion of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) course, staff will have an understanding of:
- What is PPE
- The Regulations that apply
- Things to consider with regard to PPE
- PPE standards and maintenance
- When to use, how to use and why it is necessary to use PPE
